Good of Itowa Weslan manager for President Coolddge’s CAMPLEN Wispallumward saw the vice presidency today with backing of influential administration heads. One close to President Coolidge said Good’s name is being considered while remaining outside the White House circle. Leaders indicated support could align with Coolidge’s wishes and keep the convention open to his judgment. Northwestern and Western bloc efforts to back a candidate for the vice presidency surprised observers as state groups moved to submit a name to Coolidge while signaling he would have final say. States represented include Colorado Oklahoma Kansas South Dakota North Dakota Nebraska Montana Kansas Wyoming Minnesota Missouri Utah Michigan.
Fort Morgan June 11 A farmer George Bath killed his thirteen year old daughter Lydia and wounded his wife and another daughter Marie with a crowbar as they slept in their home. He then aided himself. Five younger children escaped unharmed. Friends say financial woes weighed on the family.

Viscount Kijuhira Ishii, who negotiated the Lansing Ishii agreement, is to succeed Masanad Hans hina as ambassador to Washington, according to reliable authority.
The California delegation met this afternoon and decided to present the name of Herbert Hoover to the convention for the vice presidential nomination.
In Chicago on June 11 State Attorney Crowe won his first skirmish for an early trial of Nathan Leopold Jr. and Richard Loeb, sons of millionaires and confessed kidnappers and slayers of Robert Franks. They pleaded not guilty at arraignment before Chief Justice Caverly. Crowe pressed for a speedy trial and July 15 as date. defense objected. Judge Caverly set July 21 as a date to dispose of preliminary motions and fixed August 4 for the trial.
John Fulton director of the Mackay School of Mines and Wey M. Rives secretary of the Nes Mine Operators' Association were injured when their car fell off the Colfax road into the American river canyon during a return from a Western board meeting in Grass Valley. Fulton was thrown from the car and sustained potential eye injuries while Rives escaped with scratches. both reached Colfax and then Sacramento by train as doctors treated Fulton at Sutter Hospital.
Los Angeles Chief of Police Vollmer, famed for scientific crime methods, is set to resign August 1 amid local politics and opposition. Berkeley officials hope to recall him, planning to bring him back to the university for continued crime detection work.
