Census reports foreign born white share falls in Nebraska

Washington June 9. Nebraska’s total population was 1 296 572 with 1 279 219 white residents and 20 242 Negroes 2588 Indians 189 Chinese and small numbers of Japanese Filipinos Hindus and Koreans Foreign born whites were 11.5 percent of the population down from 14.8 percent in 1910 In Wyoming 1920 figures show white residents 190 146 Negro 1 875 Indians 13 chinese 2 Japanese 1 194 Filipinos Hindus and Koreans 92 The foreign born white share was 14 percent versus 18.6 percent in 1910.

Veteran transport Crook still on market for sale

Manila April 15. Delayed. The army transport Crook remains unsold after bids failed to materialize. Lack of available ocean tonnage cited as reason. Crook, built in Scotland in 1882, formerly Roumania, 4126 gross tons. Also planned for sale is the transport Warren, operating Manila to China routes. Warren was the former German Scandia, built 1889.
