Calhoun Returns From Cuba Mission Inquest

Calhoun wins return to Urbana with secretary and correspondent on board. The Cuban commission held sessions May 20 to June 7 in Havana and Guanabacoa, examining witnesses amid guards. The report to Washington will detail findings on Dr. Ruiz and the Guanabacoa jail death.

Costly blaze in San Francisco and new stock exchange

Special to Gazette: San Francisco reports a major lumber yard fire at Trackee Lumber Company owned by Mrs Kroger causing about 40000 in losses. Also notes Los Angeles stock exchange opens with 62000 shares traded focused on Southern California desert mines. Death of John Wright in Reno with many friends

John Wright, recently died in Reno after moving there a year ago. Former Virginia Water Co. employee for thirteen years, he left a wife and large circle of friends. Funeral set for tomorrow at 2 PM from the convent. He was known in Tacoma and San Francisco and was married to Mrs. Bigga of Reno. He died after being loaded at the English Mail while working tailings. He belonged to the Knights of Maccabees Cyrene Camp No. 6 of Tacoma.
