Fatal cloud burst near Bridge Creek claims five lives
An Oregonian report from Celilo, Wasco County, details a devastating cloudburst on Bridge Creek in Joho Day country. Five died, including Mrs. Williams and four children, bodies carried three miles downstream. Extensive property loss followed with twenty houses and several barns swept away, horses cattle drowned, and a shattered bridge carrying two freight teams. The flood peak measured twelve to fifteen feet, the first major flood in Eastern Oregon.
