General O. M. Mitchell Post No. 69 and Women’s Relief Corps No. 29 staged a joint installation at Magonic Hall with a musical program and a hot lunch. Comrade E. O Wright installed Post officers. Mrs. Mamie Dickey installed the Women’s Corps officers. A High School orchestra provided instrumental music and local talent performed three songs. The Gazette notes the evening as one of the pleasant social events in recent memory.

Death of John Piper leaves Nevada theater world mournful
The Opera House announced the veteran showman John Piper has died after heart trouble. A native of Germany and 67, Piper moved to Nevada in 1860 era and became a famed figure in state politics and theater. Funeral details are not yet announced, with daughter Mrs Zimmer present at death.
