A Mansfield Ohio reader from November 26, 1881 describes chronic pain in side and back, breast soreness, weakness, and appetite loss. After trying various doctors, Brave’s Iron Batters are claimed to relieve pain and restore strength, with the writer asserting dramatic personal recovery and calling themselves the king of medicines.
The District Court of Washoe County Nevada requires defendants James and William Mayberry to answer a complaint by Central Pacific Railroad Company within ten days if served in Nevada, twenty days if served out of county, or forty days otherwise. The suit seeks a judgment foreclosing several land interests and awarding possession of the described parcels, with costs to plaintiff. The action, filed in Reno, December 1879 terms, demands payment of $1,6178 plus interest and asserts the land is described by public surveys in Township 19 north Range 18 east Mount Diablo Meridian. Defendants face default if they do not appear and respond.
The State of Nevada through Washoe County issues a summons in the Seventh Judicial District against A J Batch and others as executors and parties to a contract dispute with Central Pacific Railroad Company. The suit seeks judgment for $2,680.10 plus interest on purchase money, foreclosures, and possession of land described as the east half of the southeast quarter of section 29, township 2 north, range 18 east, Mount Diablo meridian. The defendants are required to appear within ten to forty days, depending on service, to answer and defend, or judgment by default will be entered.

Notice states W Bragg has purchased C A Bragg interest in the Washoe Mill and Lumber Company co partnership. The business will continue under the same name with Blyte Thesaid H W Bragg as buyer and agreement with other co partners. The C A Bragg portion is due to be paid according to the contract and purchase.
The Second Judicial District of Nevada issues a summons in a divorce action between plaintiff Femima Jones and defendant Ardeen Jones. The complaint seeks to dissolve bonds of matrimony, restore the plaintiff’s maiden name, and recover court costs. the defendant is required to answer within ten (or twenty outside the county) days after service, or forty days if out of the state, with the case filed in Reno. The notice cites abandonment, lack of support, and no children, and is dated December 8, 1678.
The Seventh Judicial District Court Washoe County orders notice for a petition to sell real estate owned by the estate of Sarah M. Drennan. The notice appears in the Reno Evening Gazette for four weeks before the hearing on March 5, 1883. Objections may be filed before the court. The clerk certifies the copy as true and correct.
