The District Court of Washoe County Nevada issues a summons to A J Hatch L T Fox and W K Chamberlain executors M r a B B Norton and others in the case against Central Pacific Railroad Company. The action seeks payment of 250 then 80 with interest from December 13 1877 to January 1 1881 and enforcement of a land mortgage on Fort half of the southeast quarter Section 29 Township 22 North Range 18 East Mountable Base and Meridian totaling 50 acres. The court demands appearance and answer within ten days in county service or forty days otherwise, and warns of foreclosure and possession if not complied. A committee is to partition the residue among heirs with a court hearing set for February 17 1883 in Reno.
