Alaska relief expedition sails to Dyea
The United States Government sends 350 passengers including army officers and scouts aboard the George W Elder to support relief supplies for miners. About 200 tons of provisions depart from Seattle and 500 reindeer from Norway are expected to land in Alaska within a month.

Commissioners Meet in Regular Session
The Board of County Commissioners met at 10 o'clock with a full board present. H. H. Hogan filed his bond for county printing for the year, bond $900 with sureties Jo Bodgkioroo and Henry Riter. Disputes over a $250 claim for Kate G Blake at Washoe school. county superintendent Julian rejected it. Hospital non-resident charge set at 75 cents daily. SP Co. declined right of way near Hayford. Auditor Shearer vetoed Office Specialty bill. Summerfield sought amended bill and authority to file, but the Board questioned the action. Auditor's veto discussed. Summerfield requested acceptance of metal cages and furniture and an amended bill. The Board debated and ultimately accepted the cases and furniture, though Beck dissented. Numerous names of hotel registrants and residents appeared in the Gazette, with notices of a new joint Gazette and Bulletin subscription offer. Also reports on stock shipments by Tuomas Keogh and D. Sheriff Cumminus and deputy of Alviras return from Folsom after delivering two prisoners for ho re ebaling. They head home by this morning’s train. Uncle Jake McKienick returns from Hamburg Iowa and will stay a few days in Reno. he enjoyed his trip.
