Eight earthquakes rattled Reno Sparks and surrounding Truckee Meadows in under five hours Monday evening. No damage reported, but a strong 6 24 p m jolt rattled Christmas trees and window casings. Seismologist Gianella noted a 5 10 a.m tremor and several feeble shocks, with the center difficult to pinpoint. Scientists at Berkeley and Caltech called the sequence unusual.

Driver May Face Federal Charges In Reno Robbery
Andrew B. Metzger a 24 year old Reno cab driver was arrested for allegedly assisting in beating and robbing Wills Davis of Reno in a taxicab near the city limits early Monday. Police Seek Slender Man After Pawnshop Robbery
Police sought a tall slender man who robbed Globe pawn shop operator Ben Goldberg at about 5 pm Monday. The assailant wore a handkerchief over his face and struck Goldberg three times with a pistol when money was requested. Goldberg was treated at Washoe General Hospital for head injuries.
