The execution of Frank White a 20 year old negro for the murder of farmer George Claire at Scriba was carried out at the state prison in Auburn New York. Multiple 1760 volt shocks were delivered with doctors noting ongoing heart activity as spectators witnessed a dramatic gurgling and a flash of hair at the head electrodes before White collapsed. State Electrician Davis offered that White held his breath briefly and was practically dead after the first contact.
