Fires Kill Two Firemen at Weat 26th Street Factory
A deadly early morning blaze at the Cassidy & Son Manufacturing Co. on West 26th Street left Chief John Bresnan and Assistant Foreman Rooney dead when a floor collapsed beneath them as walls toppled. The six story building housed gas and electric equipment and the fire caused extensive damage estimated at $60,000. Firemen Hen nessy and Arnman were injured, with crews rescuing others as stairs and structures failed.
