U S Commander in Berlin Named Timbersman
In Heidelberg on December 24 U P reports Maj Gen Timbersman will replace Maj Gen Lemuel Mathewson as U S commander of Berlin. Mathewson, in Berlin since 1931, will take a new assignment probably in January. Timbersman, 32, from Jamesburg New Jersey, arrived in Germany in May 1951 with the Fourth Infantry Division as deputy commander and was named commander of the First Division in July.
