Salt Lake City Boy Messenger Found Dead After Bill Collection

In Butt Montana on December 24 a runaway horse driven by Alderman Jack Harrington bolted into the North Main business district as a funeral passed. San Francisco Dec 34 The postponement of Abraham Ruef sentence, convicted of bribing ex Supervisor Furey to back an overhead trolley franchise, continues into next Tuesday to allow the prosecution to answer defense affidavits alleging jury misconduct. Two affidavits are by Ruef and others including Henry Act and Miss Flory Campbell. An objection by ADA John O Gara to juror depositions was sustained. Oklahoma news notes Marie Jartun, held under guard, is sought as a witness in the Shattuck murder case. Lee, a man questioned, was arrested December 13.

Five Men Reported Lost On Barges Tow Sailor Tug

The tug Margaret reports the loss of her tow the barge Roskland No 6 with five men aboard. A line parted during a storm six miles off Cape Charles and the tug could not recover the craft. The 1300 ton steel hulled barge carried 600 tons of lime and sailed from Norfolk toward Cape Charles. The Margaret set to sea after coaling in a search for the missing barge.
