Special to the Gazette Elko Nevada December 12 A Tuscarora fire in the early hours killed Seth Roseberry an elderly resident his wife suffered minor burns and their home was totally destroyed. Neighbors Clarence and John Roneberry woke and helped rescue their mother but the father succumbed minutes later.

Grave Charge Against Waite in Forgery Case

TOLEDO O Dec 12 After a 24 hour battle with ice 16 miles out in Lake Erie Captain Andrew Hageny his wife and two men aboard the barge Charles Wall were rescued late yesterday by the tug Sheboygan Captain Nathan Sullivan in charge Because of danger from heavy ice the barge Charles Wall was abandoned by Nelson which proceeded to Detroit and telegraphed Toledo for larger tugs to go to the rescue The Sheboygan rescued the barge after many hours of ice struggle the bow of the barge was nearly cut through and those aboard had given up hope of rescue
