New York reports the death of Courtney Lowerie a 66 year old musician once noted as a band reader in the west He had suffered a long illness and died suddenly in a Bleeker Street eatery the note states he was well educated and known in musical circles
Berlin December 1 Emperor William sent President Roosevelt an autographed message via Baron Von Sternburg the German ambassador to the United States who sails today from Bremen to New York aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm II He received the ambassador in audience Sunday and noted he wished he could say many things to the president He prepared the note on a pad of paper signing it Wilhelm in large letters.
At Yokohama a Japanese medical student was arrested on suspicion of planning to assassinate Marquis Ito. He wore a dagger concealed under his kimono when seized at the Marquis villa in Mizo. Officials link the plot to sensational Japanese press talks of a ministerial assassination as patriotic.
In Dresden yesterday Princess Alice accuses Prince Frederick of provoking scandal and seeks calumny charges after alleging her money dispute and her alleged affair with no coachman. She claims the prince seeks revenge and may sue for calumny. Separately, the battleships Libertad and Constitution leave the Clyde on 48 hour trials testing guns for Chile.
Ex Attorney Lent W. Salsbury testified at a bribery hearing, detailing bribes to Alderman Depagter and ex-Alderman Muir over Lake Michigan water bonds. Salsbury described cash and bond promises, noting earlier offers and the motive to secure support, with revelations about continued schemes amid the Bailey Springs plan.
Washington reports the senate met in open session for thirty minutes today then took up several bills resolutions and petitions before a period of executive session. Adjournment until Friday was taken. A majority of the bills were for private pensions and many petitions sought the expulsion of Mr Smoot of Utah.

Charles Allen, the American criminal, completes years of imprisonment at Dartmouth. Upon release in December he will be rearrested on an extradition warrant for a 1896 post office robbery in Springfield, Alabama. Allen and Killoran escaped from Ludlow Street Jail and fled to England, later identified after the Beireck Bank robbery conviction.
Senator Penrose chairman of the committee on post offices and post roads introduced a resolution authorizing the committee to request the postmaster general send all papers connected with the recent post office investigation and, if necessary, to make further inquiry and report to the Senate. The resolution was referred to the committee on contingent expenses.

Names Hans Peterson William Lasker and another unlearned man confirmed dead. John Storberg sustained a broken left leg. Hercules owned by American Tosy Boar Company Baltimore.
The impartial scientific station in Prague Bohemia on December 1 awarded the highest honor for superiority to an American beer product.
Dr J W Jay in Asheville was found guilty of murder in the second degree and sentenced to thirty years in prison. The case involved the killing of his three children and referenced alleged mental decline.
