Brooklyn Navy Yard Receives Commissioned Warship
The fighting trainer Brooklyn, newest U S navy vessel, was towed from Grampa ship yard to the League Leland Moy Yard. Commodore Howell accepted the Brooklyn for the United States government and ceremonies placed her in commission. The ship is expected to sail within about two weeks.

The Chicago Burlington and Northern line and Wisconsin Central line faced ice jams and rising waters. dynamite was used to break a gorge. A train from the port brought reports of five feet of water in Chippewa Falls streets. Lawyer Thomas Fevton of Leavenworth, Kansas, collapsed from paralysis while arguing before the Supreme Court today.
