Wonderful operation on Westchester farmer's cancer ordeal
L Fairchild, a Westchester County farmer, developed a malignant cancer in his left cheek after a pimple-like lesion. Surgeons at Hahnemann Hospital performed an extensive operat ion removing the cancer and affected bone, including a cheek flap and jaw section, with tracheotomy and cautery. Despite heavy blood loss and shock, he survived the three hour procedure and is recovering with the face to be little disfigured.
