Salt Lake City August 14 The Grand Lodge of Elks approved a committee recommendation to prohibit street fairs or carnivals under lodge auspices. The rule, adopted overwhelmingly, will take effect January 1 after many lodges had planned fairs this year. The session also included officer installations and outdoor events such as a uniform drill contest and visits to Ogden Saltair and mining camps with many Elks staying for the Root Gardner contest at the Salt Palace.
