The First Thanksgiving Day Operetta at the Christian Church

The operetta to be presented next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. features Grandmother Vera Hallihan and eight grade pupils as Hollanders Puritans and Indians in a pageant of the first Thanksgiving in America. Readings songs and dances depict the Pilgrims landing in America and teaching farming to the Indians, culminating in a flag ceremony and an America tribute. Admission is 20 cents.

Young Man Killed in Monon County Ford Turnover

Wilbur Fleener, about twenty, died when the Ford he drove overturned near Monon after losing control on the way home for dinner. He was working on the Joseph Mineh farm for his uncle Wm. Mathews. an inquest returned a verdict of accidental death.

Goodland Museum Gains Fame Across Country

Dwight Babcock, known as the Daddy of the Goodland Museum, visited Remington to seek space for an expanding collection. He plans new rooms and relic displays and asks for historic items from Jasper County, including pewter plates, arrow heads, and stone axes. The museum aims to serve the state and Northwest, with recent Indianapolis Star coverage and interest from a Chicago visitor headed to the Orient who offers to send items from China.
