The Illinois Governor Len Small was found not guilty after a brief jury deliberation. The trial centered on alleged use of state funds while treasurer, with claims that funds were loaned at high rates and kept by officials, a practice deemed common and likely to continue nationwide.

Ed Sutherland, who moved to Kentland years ago and ran a restaurant there, has purchased the Wallace & Murphy restaurant in Rensselaer known as the College Inn. The eatery has enjoyed good patronage and was once the leading business of its kind in Rensselaer, and Sutherland expects to attract a steady clientele in the city.
Local venue Gravel's Theatre in Goodland hosts showings Friday and Saturday featuring the play Molly. Performances run at the Grav ia Theatre with audience attendance expected.

At eight o'clock Sunday morning in the Methodist church Rev. A L Miller united Miss Olgs Baier daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Baier Remington and Mr John Mueller of Aurora Illinois in marriage. The ceremony was witnessed by relatives and friends with the chancel decoratively arranged. Miss Callie Bonner played the wedding march and during the service. The couple will reside in Aurora after July 1 and the groom is superintendent of the Oatman Bros Condensed Milk plant there.
The Fortnightly Ladies Club closed its 1921 1922 season with a family picnic at Fountain Park. About fifty attendees enjoyed a cafeteria style feast. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs L E Greenwood and sons of Lafayette Mr and Mrs Guss Merritt and daughter of Monticello Mrs W C Woodward and daughter of Richmond Mrs Louise Mills of Bloomington Ind and Miss Esther Wetzell of Jacksonville Ill.
Mrs Katie Schwarzwalder died Saturday morning June 24 1922 at 8 30 in St Joseph hospital Logansport after a two week paralysis. Aged 67 she leaves seven children S J Columbus G A Los Angeles J J Logansport M A Peoria E and C F Schwarzwalder Elgin and Mrs Mary A Clauss Remington. Remington bore her remains Sunday 9 20 and funeral was Monday at the Christian Apostolic church with burial nearby. The funeral was largely attended.
