Engine strikes car near McKinley Ave in Rensselaer

Harvey Davisson escaped serious harm when a switch engine struck his Ford at the Monon railroad crossing on McKinley Ave. in Rensselaer. The car was lifted about fifteen feet along the tracks before the engine stopped. Davisson remained in the car and only injured his leg upon exiting after the impact.

Henry Rochester of Monon sues deputy marshal Orval Rothrock of Monticello claiming undue violence when ejecting Rochester and companions from Monticello depot on July 4.
