James N Leatherman former Jasper County auditor died at Washington Park Hospital after an appendectomy with rupture and tumor complications. He was 59. He lived in Rensselaer, Indianapolis and near New Orleans, taught in Rensselaer schools, served as county auditor, and later cashier of the First National Bank of Rensselaer. Services were held in Rensselaer with Rev G H Clarke officiating.
