Attendance at the Park runs above normal with crowds at all sessions. Transportation delays due to a railroad strike hindered artists reaching Reynolds and other distant towns. Performances included Mallory Players, Warwick Quartet, Pittsburgh Ladies Orchestra, Planation Troubadours replacement by Bruckners, Dr M H Lichliter lecture, and two Remington Band concerts.
The veneral of our oldest citizens, Mr Walker, died after a long decline. He lived here for many years and was a respected member of the community and ministration. The family was notified, and friends recall his long service and steady presence in town. Future notice will publish a fuller obituary.

Remington public schools delay fall term to Monday Sept 11 despite earlier notice. Jasper Co Institute will be held at Rensselaer the week of Sept 4 forcing a one week postponement as teachers must attend. Institute timing has disrupted nearby terms in past years.
A man 71 was struck by the Daylight limited near Lee and killed as the Monon train arrived at Rensselaer on Wednesday. Crew warned him repeatedly. he may have been deaf or blind to signals. Coroner Wright took charge of the case. Letters and banking documents in his pockets identified him as George B. Maston of Oxford and Milford and Milford, Indiana. Funeral held at Weston Cemetery Friday with Wm. Smith of Sycamore arranging.

The body of Grace Winright, six, was found floating face up in the Kankakee River near Shelby after she disappeared while swimming with her mother. Grace had come from Manteno with her family for a two week camping trip and vanished without a struggle, prompting campers to search the river for hours.
John Baer, a well known taxi driver, was driven between towns by two men who assaulted him near the midway point, robbed him of 16 dollars, then left him unconscious. They abandoned the taxi in Monticello. it was recovered Monday. Baer suffered heavy bruises but no serious injuries.

Allen Jessen, 65, a Morocco resident, hanged himself from a porch rafters using a wire from a perch swing. He was found later by neighbors after returning from town in apparently good spirits. Jessen's wife had died previously. he left no suicide note.
Miss Mary McFall daughter of Mr and Mrs John McFall of Gilboa married Ray Mimmick a Danville Indiana mechanic in a Fowler Methodist parsonage ceremony attended by close relatives. Bride a Gilboa teacher popular and esteemed. couple to live in Danville for now.
