Sentence Reduction Sought in Domestic Battery Case
A Webster County man, Frank May of Cowen, appeared before Nicholas County Circuit Judge Gary Johnson after a July 1997 guilty verdict for causing bodily harm to Shannon Wolfe of Richwood. May was ordered to 60 additional days in Central Regional Jail and may begin work release at 7:30 am with 7 pm return, drug testing, and $200 monthly restitution.

Nicholas County Court Sums Sentences For Various Offenses
Nicholas County Circuit Court handed sentences to several defendants. Micheal Waggoner received one to five years for delivery of a controlled substance, after pleading guilty July 20. Deborah Angel of Belva drew six months in the Central Regional Jail for possession of a controlled substance with prior arrests. Tracey Deal of Mount Nebo got one year for each of two misdemeanor counts of stolen property, after pleading guilty July 24. Dawn Johnson of Summersville received a suspended one year term for welfare fraud, with restitution and hours of community service. Danny Barnette and Donna Barnette faced welfare fraud charges with probation and jail days. Barnette also owes community service and restitution.
