Ex-girlfriend furious as larceny charge dropped in Fox case
Veronica Smith of Hinton says she is furious after Summers County prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor larceny count against Roger L. Fox Jr. The former girlfriend contends rings she owned were taken during their relationship. Prosecutor Mike Turner said evidence showed Fox did not steal the rings and the case should not have been charged.

Theft case dismissed by state in Summers County
The state dismissed a Summers County theft charge with a plan to bring it before the November grand jury. April Siddon Rodes, 26, of Hinton, faced grand larceny, breaking and entering, forgery, uttering and petit larceny charges. blood test results awaited to confirm a match. Circuit Judge Robert Irons released Rodes from jail with dismissal without prejudice. In a separate matter, Shawn Dale Haskins, 24, of Columbus, Ohio, received a year of probation after an earlier guilty plea to petit larceny, as Irons vacated a six month jail term.

Two Hinton men pleaded guilty or received probation after large scale state police undercover drug operation. Tony R. Richmond 40 admitted delivering marijuana on Aug 14 1996 and faces 1 to 5 years.
