A Raleigh County jury found Wal-Mart not liable for failures to prevent an abduction in the Beckley Crossing parking lot. The case centered on a 1994 incident involving a paroled murderer. Wal-Mart argued the lease did not require security patrols. BC Associates settled prior to trial. plaintiff sought 10 million dollars.
