Judge denies appeal in sex offender Miller plea
Fayette County Circuit Judge John Hatcher refused to overturn George Miller's guilty plea in a habeas petition. Miller faced six of 36 counts linked to a juvenile girl in Pendleton County and alleged ineffective counsel and trial errors. The judge found no evidence of attorney mishandling or court error and noted Miller's self-advocacy in the scrap metal business. Miller also faces a 40 year Virginia sentence. appeal deadline four months, notice due in 30 days.
