Beaver Elementary Lunchroom and Hasty Repairs Noted
Lafferty recalls seeing few adults around Beaver Elementary as lunch happens in a shared entry area. The school lacks a dedicated cafeteria causing staff to spend hours setting tables and folding them away. Classrooms show clutter from filing cabinets due to no storage closets and duct tape fixes carpet seams. The basement appears finished with fake brick to disguise its status. Despite rough conditions, teachers push through and students learn with test scores above the national average, though sixth grade trails state and county averages.
