WVU eyes Beckley area site for college affiliation
WVU officials say renovating the former Beckley Junior High would cost about 4 million, far beyond the 1 million funds available for leasing and integration with the College of West Virginia. They are considering the nearby AEP building, appraised at 680000, for classrooms, labs, and offices, with faster occupancy and lower renovation costs. The plan stems from CWV affiliation efforts and Beckley district changes.
