State police deploy SMART radar trailers on West Virginia Turnpike
State police along the West Virginia Turnpike announce the use of SMART trailers to monitor speeds. Three mobile radar units, placed at Ghent Beckley and Standard, flash speeds in white or red to alert drivers while gathering data on high and low speeds. The system, operated by Parkways Authority Troop 7, records speeds, time frames, and can generate graphs and tallies for enforcement and safety studies.
