Election results show both amendments defeated with 335,878 votes for the Local Option Economic Development Amendment and 323,696 for the Judicial Reform Amendment. In Newport Maine residents defeated an ordinance to punish topless lawn mowing after a neighbor complained about Desiree Davis 34 mowing a lawn shirtless. Town officials noted breasts are not genitalia and no crime occurred, sending the measure to a public vote.
