Summersville marks new playground dedication by Volunteers In Mission

Volunteers in Mission dedicate a new playground at Summersville Grade School after serving spaghetti to over 200. The Summersville Convention and Visitors Bureau donated 6000 for equipment while local groups and businesses provided lumber brackets blueprints and meals. Volunteers logged about 1300 hours and plan summer Russia trips to build similar playgrounds at orphanages.

Rainelle fugitive backs to Georgia in extradition case

Daniel McMillion II waived extradition after arrest over the weekend in Greenbrier County. Judge Frank Jolliffe revoked a $1,500 bond and issued a new warrant on May 11. The 23-year-old had been ordered to report to Georgia authorities a week earlier but did not appear. He faces multiple probation violations including unpaid court costs, failure to report to his probation officer, and failure to notify a change of address.
