Red light running linked to多 traffic crashes and deaths
A study released Wednesday ties red light running to about a quarter million crashes yearly and rising fatal red light crashes. From 1992 to 1996, 3,753 red light crashes killed 4,238 people, with Detroit and Phoenix showing high and low rates among large cities. Police note disregard for signals while researchers link red-light runners to higher BAC, younger age, and speeding histories.
