Vernon plane crash kills three including S&L ex-chairman
A private six passenger twin engine Beagle crashed seven miles north of Vernon Texas killing Woody Lemons former Vernon Savings and Loan chairman his wife Paula Lemons who piloted the craft and his mother. They were en route to Austin after engine trouble and the plane struck U S Highway 283 before bursting into flames in a wheat field.
