Roy Grant Massey 72 died Saturday June 20 1998 in a Beckley hospital after a lifelong West Virginia life. Born October 6 1925 in Dorothy he was the son of Samuel H Massey and Elva Craig Massey. A World War II veteran and retired foreman of Beckley Mining Co at Glen Daniels he belonged to UMWA UAW and attended World Wide Church of God. He was survived by his wife Ruby Norma Henderson Massey five daughters five sons a brother a sister and numerous grandchildren. Services 9:30 a.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home.

Summers County Circuit Judge Robert Lyons sentenced 29 year old Scott Douglas Morgan to 30 days in Southern Regional Jail for two counts of destruction of property. Morgan faced potential one year on each count and will serve a year on probation after the month with conditions including employment, $500 fine, restitution, and drug tests.
