Five year old Trevor Gray of Crab Orchard won the overall and 5 and under divisions in the Division of Natural Resources Kids Fishing Derby at Little Beaver State Park. He landed a 13.75 inch rainbow trout. More than 170 children participated, with demonstrations by the Beckley Police K-9 unit and a DNA biologist. Awards went to winners in age groups 5 and under, 6 to 9, and 10 to 14. The event featured prizes, shirts, and fishing supplies. A planning meeting for next year is set for June 23 at the DNR office in MacArthur.
