UNC muralists paint Sterling Spencer tribute in Richwood
Four UNC muralists led by Michael Brown create a starry night scene on the Sterling Spencer Memorial Sculpture Garden wall in Richwood. The mural honors sculptor Sterling Spencer with shadowy figures of his children and local wildlife under a dusky sky. Brown, 42, mentored by Mayor Jeremy Rose, assembling interns Cassie Lynm, Mary Kluttz, and Jesse Green for a 10 week mural marathon across North Carolina and possibly Ecuador, funded by a state grant residual.
