Summers County defense seeks dismissal in counterfeit cocaine indictments
Defense attorney Lawrence Strnley asked a Summers County judge to dismiss one of 35 drug indictments from the November grand jury charging Michael Harshaw Sr. and Karla Harshaw with delivering counterfeit cocaine. Karla Harshaw's plea withdrawal was granted after a motion argued the indictment was improper. The judge reinstated the original indictment, leaving Harshaw facing three felonies. Prosecutor Mike Turner noted merit to the motion to dismiss but offered no opposition to the withdrawal.

Truck theft case dismissed in Summers County
Chicago man John Michael Signorelli, 23, was freed after prosecutors dismissed a felony bringing stolen property into the state charge. Police found a 1997 U-Haul pickup at Pine Hill near Talcott after an anonymous tip. prosecutors cited witness expense in Chicago as the reason for dismissal.
