Retired 4-H worker to join WV Agriculture Hall of Fame
Nine individuals will be inducted into the West Virginia Agriculture and Forestry Hall of Fame at Jacksons Mill on Saturday. Larry Cavendish of Beckley, a longtime 4-H and FFA advocate, reflects on his career begun in 1940 with the Future Farmers of America and later service with West Virginia University Extension. The ceremony honors diverse contributors including posthumous inductees Charles Alexander Keadle of Lindside and John Raine of Rainelle, whose efforts helped spark the West Virginia Corn Clubs and local forestry development.
