Nurse Wins Sexual Harassment Suit at Grafton City Hospital
A Morgantown physician and hospital must pay 257000 dollars to a nursing supervisor who testified to years of harassment. Grafton City Hospital will cover 200000 of punitive damages after administrators allegedly knew of the conduct and took no action. The four day Taylor County Circuit Court trial saw Brettie Fletcher, a nurse since 1992, recount abusive behavior, including touching and demeaning remarks. The other claimants could not sue for time-barred periods.

Heart defect killed young swimmer in Clarksburg
Melanie Sprenger says her 12 year old son Chris Sprenger died last month from an enlarged heart and irregular heartbeat after collapsing in a pool during a freestyle relay at Fairmont Field Club. Rescue attempts cleared his lungs, and doctors warned the condition has no cure except a transplant. The mother hopes sharing the tragedy will encourage children to return to swimming despite fears.
