Sewer plant land dispute settled near James Monroe High School
A six year condemnation case involving land for the James Monroe High School sewer plant was settled. HP United Inc will receive 13 000 for 0.55 acre at Coulters Chapel as Monroe County Circuit Court filed. The Red Sulphur Public Service District had sued in 1992 over fair market value. The Monroe Schools board approved 3040 as its share to secure an 8290 bond until settlement. The Dunns owned HP United Inc and sold the tract in 1993 amid bankruptcy talks. The board budgeted 1800 for its share of the balance.
