Dow plunges nearly 150 points as Fed jitters unsettle market
The Dow Jones industrial average fell as much as 224 points before closing 146.98 lower at 8917.64, its first close below 9000 in two weeks. The Nasdaq dropped 2.6 percent amid investor concerns the Fed may slow the economy to curb inflation.

Nagye murder trial set for next week
Beckley man Rodney Nagye, 37, faces trial next week for the 1997 murder of his live-in girlfriend Marilyn Johnson after a pre trial hearing on crime scene photographs. The defense challenged most images as gruesome, while the state urged their relevance and a possible shooting distance. Hutchison will rule later on the photos and denied firearm demonstration in court. Nagye remains free on 75000 bond and may testify in his own defense.
