Lester man jumps bail on murder charge

Alvin Templeton, 43, who faced charges of attempted first degree murder and nine counts of wanton endangerment, failed to appear at a pre trial hearing prompting a Raleigh County judge to issue a bench warrant. The court aims to locate him as his trial set for April 30 and his prior arrest stems from a 1997 Fireco incident involving shotgun fire toward his brother and two teens.

Summersville meeting maps statewide trail system

West Virginia Coalition for Trails held a meeting in Summersville to gather public input on existing trails in Nicholas Fayette Webster and Braxton counties. The goal is a mapped statewide system to boost tourism and address maintenance liability and access concerns. Over 50 attended.
