A 14 year old boy at The Alternate School in Pocatello Idaho briefly held about a dozen classmates hostage for nearly five hours before surrendering after trading his guns for snacks and cigarettes. Police said four students remained with him temporarily as the scene unfolded.
Donna and Paul DeLong sue former mayor Ed Bowman and Weirton officials claiming a staged raid on Day Dreams a Nite Things during its grand opening violated their rights after a 1995 obscenity ordinance was ruled unconstitutional. The federal judge allowed the suit but Bowman is immune from suit over acts as mayor.
