Controversy Over E-911 Director Hire in Maxwelton
Malcomb was hired March 5 as E 911 director for the Maxwelton center and started March 15, agreeing to work for free until the center opened. Holbrook, one of the candidates, learned of the hiring from a newspaper and says he and others were not informed or re advertised. Arbuckle says Malcomb is only E 911 director and may not cover emergency services, though Holbrook could return as emergency services director. The two must coordinate at the new Maxwelton Communications Center shared by both operations with the IFLOWS flood monitor. James Fife will be emergency services contact if needed, and Holbrook has offered to help temporarily.
