Boone Raleigh water project faces state denial and funding risk
The Boone Raleigh Public Service District asks the Raleigh County Commission for help after a West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council vote blocks part of a 3.5 million Whitesville area water project. Pine Haven seeks 32988 grant to cover shelter budget
Pine Haven emergency shelter seeks a 32988 federal grant from the Office of Economic Opportunity to cover about one fifth of its budget. Randy Housh asked the Raleigh County Commission to pass a resolution authorizing the application, which the commissioners approved. The shelter has received the grant since 1994 and sheltered 1087 people last year.
