Night of Fire Traps Six Fall From New Orleans Skyscraper
A flash fire in a 16 floor New Orleans building caused patrons from a restaurant and a beauty salon to jump to their deaths on Wednesday. At least six people died or were critically injured, including a seven month pregnant woman, as helicopters rescued others from the roof. Fire officials speculated on arson or an explosion as the Lamplighter Club and a beauty shop were gutted. Charles J. Michel died trapped on the 14th floor.

A deadly blaze at Baptist Towers, an 11 story aged care building in southwest Atlanta, killed nine residents and injured 31.
