A local man has been named to lead census efforts in the area, coordinating with state and federal agencies. The appointment strengthens community outreach during the upcoming national census period, with duties including voter registration liaison and public information campaigns.
Gertrude Rasmussen acted as hostess to Ivy Club members last Thursday after a mon Monday gathering. Lehi ying golpels were served to Moyes Dorman Puchnan Pertson Carter Hokcanh and Miss Holwan.
The Ladies' Aid Society met in the church parlors on Tuesday afternoon for a regular business session led by President Mrs. Charles Gensor. Mrs. Honnell and Mrs. Googe ton served as luncheon hosts.
The Order of the Mastera held a regular meeting on a recent evening at the Masonic hall. Attendees included Mrs. Sarah Uedlee, Mrs. Geetrule Bell, Miss Grave Ter k, and Mrs. Rose Covilie.
Little Rose Mary Donnan celebrated her birthday with a party at home in Mae. Guests played games and the spell ending with a catchy phrase caused much amusement. A pretty lunch and decorated cake with candles centered the table as friends were invited.
Mrs CG Martin entertained members at the new bridge club on Wednesday night. Esther Matteon won the high prize, Mrs Roubeneck took the guest prize, and Mrs Peter Homes claimed the dear prize. Attendees kept notes and discussed ongoing union hopes.

Charley slipped on the ice during the bake, but a catch came up when Mor hauled a large fish, ending their outing as a storm ruined plans and they headed home early with one sizable fish.
Village Board meets in Belgranite Wisconsin to consider purchasing fire equipment. Trustees Moore Fin ker Decker Smith Zelinske present. Howe Fire Apparatus Co. exhibits gear and prices. Board approves a 1986 Chevrolet truck for 540 dollars with trade of old Mobil T. Also approves a Barton U-50-50 GPM pump for 860 dollars pending underwriter approval. Board votes to pay a 67.50 bill for oil fire department once 1935 inspection money is received. Meeting adjourned.
A well attended Sunday evening program at the Congregational church featured Misses Trene Hildebrand and Aline Milke from the high school faculty speaking on Lincoln and Washington. Musical numbers included a quartet solo by William Peck Clarence Rowlands Brodwyn Williams Beth Gordon a violin solo by Leon Van Dreser a vocal solo by Hugh Jones and Trevor Evans gave a recital.
A Arizona experiment shows alfalfa leaves exposed to sun for under three hours at noon lose 20 to 22 percent of vitamin A versus leaves cured in a ventilated dark room. Leaves left out overnight can lose up to 75 percent, with rain and improper storage accelerating the degradation.

Resolution notes the death of Rose Qeain a charter member and first Matron of Granite Chapter not dead only promoted she enters the chapter above to finish her labor of love a charter draped for thirty days and a copy sent to the bereaved and published in the Redgranite Times.
Rosa M Ocain born in Meadville Pennsylvania January 30 1853 moved with parents to Pine River Wisconsin as a child married George Owain of Saxeville in 1871. Died February 19 1936 at 83 after living in Redgranite Hancock Plainfield and Racine. Survived by sons George Lewis Frank and daughter Mattie Luce. Active Eastern Star member and organizer of several chapters. Funeral Feb 21 in Redgranite Congregational Church with Eastern Star rites.
The Redgranite Advancement Association is negotiating a lease of the village Community Hall with an outside party. If closed, the new manager plans improvements including a screen new machines and renovation of sound equipment.
Funeral services for John Pirie were held Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church with Rev Williams of Wild Rose officiating. Burial followed in Forest Road Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hadley Bannerman Walter Harvey Morris Thomas Thomas Evans William Christie and John Lawrie. Out of town attendees included Miss Muriel Pirie of Washington DC the George Bannerman family of Manitowoc George and Gordon Harvey of Milwaukee H G Bannerman and family of Chicago Mrs N W Ketbert of Westmare Wis and Miss Dorothy Harvey of Wild Rose.
Word comes of the death of John Burke GS of Superior Wisconsin formerly of this village. He died Saturday night from injuries in a car accident. Survived by six sons Orval William Jok Edwayn Wayne Elmer and two daughters Alma Mildren and six grandchildren. Funeral plans pending as children travel from California. Burke formerly worked at Jaenniquarries and was a well known local figure.
In a special meeting the Village Board unanimously approved purchasing a 193% and Low and a Barton 560 gpm pump from Howe Fire Apparatus Co. Equipment, assembled in Milwaukee, will be tested by Underwriters and delivered to Redgranite in about two weeks. Total cost about 1400. Expected insurance reductions range 25 to 45 percent. payback in about three years. The Barton pump will deliver 0 gpm at up to five stories and boost fire protection for property owners.
Joanne Hannemann eleven month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hannemann escaped serious injuries after a family dog aroused by the baby's approach sprang up and knocked her to the floor. A bruise between the eyes and a small head gash were sustained, but healing is progressing and there is little fear of lasting harm.
Malcolm Bannerman visited the high school and planned a return to Northwestern University in Evanston. Debate schedules unfold at Stevens Point with triangle rounds and prospects for Madison state championship. Geni Harju is ill, hoping to rejoin next week. A February 20 basketball clash vs Adams-Friendship showcased a tight, fought contest, with Redgranite pushing the visitors hard throughout the game.
