The U S flagship Connecticut leads the fleet out of Manila as the last long sojourn ends. Admiral Sperry thanks local officials and residents for hospitality while crowds cheer the ships leaving for the Atlantic coast voyage.
An impromptu address by LU H Harriman at a prosperity dinner critiques idle money and idle labor. He recalls predicting reform to the president three years earlier and urges productive use of capital while warning of economic dangers.
