Shasta Jury Indicts Cahill for Sacramento Murder
Shasta County Grand Jury indicted James T. Cahill, 32, of Boston for murder in the stabbing and bludgeoning of traveling companion Orville E. Scott, 51, at a Shasta Lake campsite on Sept. 15. Scott’s pockets were ripped and robbery suspected. Cahill and Alton L. Whitecotton, 38, were camping with Scott and Cahill faces the charge while Whitecotton remains in custody for investigation.

Men Plead Guilty In Justice Court To Game Violations
Three men faced Red Bluff Justice Court on Fish and Game charges for hunting in a state game refuge and possessing a gun capable of shooting in a refuge. Kenneth D Beller and Clifford A Roberts, both pled guilty and were fined 250 dollars each. John S Barton pled guilty to possession of a gun in a refuge and was fined 125 dollars.
